Tasmanians in the south can look forward to a break from the recent cold spell, with a warm weekend forecast for most of the state.
Hobart is set to reach 21 degrees on Saturday under mostly sunny skies, with just a small chance of rain.
Sunday may bring a few showers and some cloud cover, but temperatures will remain high at 20 degrees.
The start of the new week will also be mild, with Monday expected to reach 19 degrees under partly cloudy skies and only a slight chance of a shower in the evening.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Christie Johnson said the settled weather on Saturday is due to a high-pressure system moving over the state.
“In Tasmania [expect] very settled weather once again, morning frost patches inland and then a mostly sunny day with northerly winds,” she said.
Snow has fallen on the state’s peaks several times in recent weeks, with remaining patches slowly disappearing from the summit on kunanyi/Mt Wellington on Friday.
