Police are investigating after a motorist became trapped in his following a crash on the Bass Highway this morning.
The 63-year-old Latrobe man is believed to have crashed into the rear of a truck that was stopped on the highway and was waiting to turn around 7am on Thursday.

Authorities extracted the man from his vehicle before transporting him to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Anyone with dash cam footage of a white Isuzu MUX or a white Mitsubishi light truck on the highway in the lead up to the crash is asked to contact Police.
The 57-year-old driver of the truck was not physically injured in the incident.
