The JackJumpers and New Zealand Breakers are set to get “ugly” this Christmas, but not in the way you might think.
For their annual NBL Christmas Day match-up on December 25, the two teams will be sporting custom-designed ‘ugly Christmas sweater’ jerseys.
It will be the first time the JackJumpers and Breakers collaborate on wearing Christmas jerseys, sharing the spirit of the season both on and off the court.
The JackJumpers will stick to tradition with a red and green design, while the Breakers will incorporate their signature pink and blue.
“Our Christmas Day game is about more than basketball,” JackJumpers CEO Christine Finnegan said.
“It’s a chance for families and fans to come together, celebrate the season and create special memories.”
The Breakers are equally excited to be spending Christmas in Tasmania.
“We’re really looking forward to our Christmas Day match-up against the JackJumpers,” CEO Lisa Edser said.
“We have had a lot of fun creating the Christmas jersey and think players and fans alike will enjoy the festive Kiwi flavour we’ve added to our design.”
The game will tip-off at 6pm.
