Kingston High School was locked down this afternoon after a group of youths allegedly trespassed onto the grounds.
The school activated its lockdown as a precautionary measure, with Tasmania Police called to the site.
All staff and students are safe and no injuries were reported.
A Department of Education, Children and Young People spokesperson told Pulse the school “activated a lockdown procedure as a precautionary measure.”
“Student and staff safety is the highest priority for the Department,” the spokesperson said.

Tasmania Police said officers received a report from the school around 2:45pm.
“Police received a report from a high school in Kingston in relation to youths allegedly trespassing on the grounds,” police said.
“Police attended and the youths had left the area.”
Police said they are investigating.
