Power outages have hit several towns in Tasmania’s North-West region, leaving over 1000 customers without electricity this afternoon.
The affected areas include Ambleside, Devonport, East Devonport, Latrobe, Miandetta, Quoiba, Spreyton and Wesley Vale.

According to TasNetworks, the cause of the outage is still under investigation and the estimated restoration time is yet to be confirmed.
They say they have received reports of a “loud bang” at Quoiba and have dispatched crews to investigate the incident.
People are asked to stay at least 10 meters clear of fallen power lines or other damage and report any such incidents to them on 132004.
