A man has been taken into custody after an aggravated carjacking in Moonah this evening.
The incident unfolded around 6:25pm on Main Road when a man returned to his vehicle and was threatened by another man believed to be armed with a knife.
The offender allegedly stole the victim’s silver Toyota Camry and fled the scene towards Creek Road.
Police responded quickly, deploying road spikes to intercept the vehicle before it came to a stop in Pierce Street, Moonah.
The driver then abandoned the car and ran from the scene.
Officers searched the surrounding area and located the alleged offender, taking him into custody around 7:45pm.
