A man has been arrested following a search operation in Southern Tasmania after he allegedly evaded police.
The incident unfolded around 2:15pm, with officers initially pursuing a white Subaru Liberty with the registration B24MP on the East Derwent Highway at Gagebrook.

The vehicle failed to stop and a search involving police and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was launched.
The vehicle was eventually located in Sorell and the driver was taken into custody.
Police are asking anyone who saw the vehicle driving dangerously between Gagebrook and Sorell to come forward.
“Anyone with vision of the vehicle is asked to upload it to investigators,” police said.
