A man has been charged over the alleged smashing of glass at Parliament House and the Wrest Point Convention and Entertainment Centre in Hobart.
The 44-year-old Dover man was charged after two separate incidents of property damage in the past week
Police allege the man damaged 10 windows and two glass doors at Parliament House on the evening of Saturday October 3.
They also allege he went to Wrest Point at Sandy Bay in the early hours of Monday October 5 and deliberately damaged 26 glass panels throughout the complex.

Police say significant repair and replacement costs are expected from both incidents.
Officers were called to Parliament House at around 11:20pm on Saturday after a report of damage.

Police said at the time nobody got inside the building.
Pulse reported on Sunday that a 44-year-old man had been found a short time later in Elizabeth Street and would be summonsed to appear in court.
After further investigations, police obtained a warrant for the man’s arrest. He was arrested in Hobart on Tuesday and interviewed by Hobart Uniform investigators.
He was charged with offences relating to the destruction of property and appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court.

The man was granted bail with conditions and is due to appear in court again on January 28 2027.
