Man extradited from WA to Tasmania over assault and child exploitation charges

A 31-year-old man has been extradited to Tasmania from Western Australia to face charges of grievous bodily harm and producing child exploitation material.

Officers from Tasmania Police’s Western Criminal Investigation Division flew the former Devonport man back from Perth on Friday.

The grievous bodily harm charge relates to an alleged assault in Devonport in December 2020.

The child exploitation material charge relates to offences alleged to have occurred across January and February 2022.

The man has been remanded to appear in court on Monday.
