A 43-year-old New Norfolk man has been charged with wounding and destroying property after another man was stabbed in the leg on High Street in New Norfolk on Thursday afternoon.
Police allege that around 1:15pm, a man in a white Toyota van verbally threatened a woman who was on the footpath.
A short time later, a disturbance broke out between the man in the van and another man who knew the woman.
During that second incident, the man who had been driving the van sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to the leg.
The 43-year-old was taken into police custody a short time later.
He has been charged with wounding and destroying property and was detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Friday.
Witnesses reported seeing officers cordon off the area, with blood visible on the ground.
