Updated 10:45am Tuesday, February 10: A person is being airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious leg injuries following a crash in the north-west.
The driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway, near the junction with Morris Road at Boat Harbour, just before 7:30am on Tuesday.
“Police and emergency services remain at the scene and the eastbound lane of the Bass Highway will be closed until the scene is clear,” police said.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible.”

Earlier: A man is trapped following a serious two-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway at Boat Harbour this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Morris Road in the north-west just before 8am on Tuesday.
The eastbound lane remains closed as crews work to free the occupant.
“Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution on the approach to the area,” police said.
