A giant sinkhole measuring close to two car widths wide has suddenly appeared on Ferny Track, a rural Tasmanian road near Pyengana.
The emergence of the sinkhole has prompted the local Break O’Day Council to issue a warning to locals about the danger it poses.

The council has described the sinkhole as a “massive hole in the road” and has urged motorists to take extra care when traveling in the area.
The private owners of the road have also been notified and are expected to put up signage to alert drivers of the danger ahead.
