A Metro bus has crashed through a fence at the state-owned public transport operator’s Huntingfield bus yard this evening, colliding with a nearby building.
The bus left the yard on Ascot Drive near Kingston around 6:30pm, smashing through fencing and ending up across the road – crashing into a building.
A trainee driver is understood to have lost control of the vehicle.
It is understood the parking brake was not engaged, causing the bus to roll out of the yard uncontrolled.

A Metro spokesperson confirmed the incident involved “a driver undergoing training” at the Kingston yard.
“As a result, some minor damage to property occurred,” the spokesperson told Pulse.

“No injuries were reported.”
Metro said it will formally investigate the matter as standard practice.
Tasmania Police was contacted for comment.
