A plane turned heads over Launceston this morning, flying low enough to rattle windows in Trevallyn.
The C-130 from RAAF Base Richmond was carrying 65 Air Force and Army cadets and staff on a military experience flight.
Launceston Airport said the aircraft flew over the Tamar Valley and Bridport.
Those on board had “the opportunity to experience the aircraft’s cargo door being opened mid-flight, allowing them to take in the incredible views below”, the airport said.
“After landing in Launceston, the group spent time exploring the aircraft’s features before heading back to base,” it said.
Residents took to social media to ask what was happening, with many commenting on the noise and how low the plane was flying.
One Trevallyn resident said the aircraft “flew incredibly low over my dad’s house” and she “could clearly see everything”.
“And boy oh boy it was loud,” she wrote.
