Motorcyclist injured in crash on Bruny Island rushed to Royal Hobart Hospital

An injured motorcyclist is on his way to the Royal Hobart Hospital following a crash on Bruny Island Main Road this afternoon.

The man, who is in his 40s, was reportedly injured on the road near Get Shucked Oyster Bar at around 12pm on Tuesday.

Police are now searching the island for a white 4WD ute with a canopy that was spotted in the area at the time of the crash.

It remains unclear if the vehicle was involved in the incident, however officers would like to speak to the driver.

Anyone with information can be pass it on to police by calling 131 444 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously.

The extent of the man’s injures remains unknown.

Updated 2:20pm Tuesday, January 30: Police say they are “no longer looking” for a white 4WD following the earlier crash.
