An elderly motorcyclist has been rushed to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Midland Highway at Ross.
The 75-year-old man from the south of the state is believed to have collided with a blue Ford Ranger towing a caravan at the intersection with Roseneath Road around 2pm on Sunday.
The rider was airlifted from the scene in a serious condition, while the people inside the Ranger were not physically injured.
Police said investigations into the cause of the crash were continuing.
“Anyone with information or dash cam footage from around the time of the incident should contact police on 131 444,” they said.
“The highway was closed for a short period as a result of the crash and police would like to thank the community for their understanding during this time.”
