A 38-year-old motorcyclist has been flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway in the state’s north-west this morning.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the highway and Stowport Road at Wivenhoe around 7:20am on Tuesday.
The crash involved a white Curtainsider UD truck, a white Subaru S-6 and a red Honda CB250 motorcycle.
The rider sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was initially taken by ambulance to the North West Regional Hospital.
He has since been transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The left-hand lane of the Bass Highway was closed for westbound traffic at the intersection of Stowport Road following the incident.
The off-ramp from the Bass Highway onto Stowport Road was also closed.
