Newnham man arrested after stolen car and motorbike found at Launceston property

A Launceston man has been charged after he allegedly stole a motorcycle from a Kings Meadows property in April.

The alleged offender was arrested after a targeted search of a Mayfield property overnight.

During the search on Wednesday evening, officers found the motorcycle and a car at the Mayfield address.

Police believe the 27-year-old from Newnham is responsible for taking the motorcycle and a car in april.

A firearm and drugs discovered in the vehicle, which was believed to have been stolen from Kings Meadows in April.

The man is facing charges for stealing both vehicles and will appear in court at a later date.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police.
