Police are investigating an alleged assault on a security guard at Hobart Airport after a male passenger was refused access to a departing flight on Thursday night.
The incident unfolded in the departure lounge around 7:10pm.
A witness told Pulse a “distressed passenger was told he couldn’t board his flight from Hobart to Sydney and proceeded to punch the guards”.
“He threw a container of milk on the wall and then his belongings, then punched the airport security,” the witness said.

Police allege a member of airport security received minor injuries after being assaulted during the disturbance.
Police said the passenger did not board the flight and left the airport complex in a taxi around 7:20pm.
