A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Spreyton in Northern Tasmania this morning.
Police are currently on the scene of the crash on Mersey Main Road following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

The individual has since been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
As a result of the incident, the road has been blocked and police are asking motorists to avoid driving through Spreyton.
Instead, they are being advised to divert via Sheffield Road and Tarleton Road.
For most drivers, the quickest route would be to take the Bass Highway.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
