A person has died after suffering a medical episode inside a Coles supermarket in Devonport this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the store on Best Street after the person collapsed.
Ambulance Tasmania crews attended the scene, with police providing support.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing CPR being performed on the man inside the supermarket.
Bystanders praised Coles staff and other onlookers who stepped in to help before emergency services arrived.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson confirmed the death was not suspicious.
“This was a medical episode. There are no suspicious circumstances,” the spokesperson said.
“Sadly, a person died following a medical episode.”
Police said they did not have permission from the family to release any further details about the person who died.
