A popular camping ground in Tasmania’s North-West will reopen to overnight visitors from October 5.
Pioneer Park has been closed to overnight campers since June but remained open for day visitors while shingle replacement and building maintenance took place over recent months.
The park committee will complete some final tidy up jobs in the coming weeks, but say “due to inflationary pressures” they have “reluctantly been forced to increase camping fees for the coming season”.
The maximum stay at the park will be four weeks and long-stay patrons must leave for at least one week before returning.
Camp sites cannot be booked in advance.
From October 5, powered sites will cost $18 for one person and $26 for two. Additional guests are $6 each, and children under six stay free.
Unpowered sites are cheaper, with one person paying $12 a night and two people paying $18.
Showers are available for $1 for five minutes.
