A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the hand at a property in Moonah, in Hobart’s north, overnight.

Tasmania Police said they were called to the Charles Street address around 9:25pm on Wednesday after reports a person inside a shed had suffered a gunshot wound.

The 31-year-old man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.

“Police believe two other people who were known to the man were at the location at the time of the incident,” a spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine how the man sustained the gunshot wound.”

No one else at the property was injured, police said.
