Police arrest two after stolen car allegedly fails to stop in Latrobe

Two people have been arrested after the driver of a stolen car allegedly fled from police in the state’s north-west this morning.

Officers on patrol attempted to pull over a grey Mazda CX3 on Gilbert Street in Latrobe around 9am on Tuesday.

The car, with the registration H10CE, had been reported stolen.

The driver allegedly refused to stop and the car was tracked between Latrobe and Deloraine before it was intercepted around 10am.

Two people were arrested and nobody was physically injured, police said.

“Anyone with information or dash cam footage of a grey Mazda CX3 travelling in the Latrobe, Railton, Elizabeth Town and Deloraine areas today should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania anonymously … and quote OR 814591,” a police spokesperson said.
