A Latrobe man has been charged with drug trafficking and road safety offences after attempting to evade police in Devonport, leading to his arrest and the discovery of methamphetamine.
The 40-year-old allegedly tried to flee from Taskforce Scelus officers at around 11am yesterday when they attempted to stop his vehicle on Forbes Street.
Instead of pulling over, he sped off, prompting police to track him to a nearby residence.
Officers later searched the property, where they took the man into custody and seized a quantity of methamphetamine.
He has been charged with multiple offences, including trafficking in a controlled drug and aggravated evade.
The man was detained overnight and is expected to appear before the Devonport Magistrates Court today.
