Police swarm two addresses in Hobart’s north after alleged wounding

Updated, 6:45pm Saturday Janauary 18: A man has received injuries believed to be from a firearm and has been taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.

Derwent Park is now clear while Aloomba Place and Calvert Cresent in Gagebrook are currently closed to members of the public.

Police believe the two locations are linked to the wounding and are investigating a specific line of enquiry.

Earlier: Police have swarmed a Gagebrook home and a Derwent Park service station after an alleged wounding incident this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to reports of a wounding around 4:50pm on Saturday.

The incident is believed to involve a property on Aloomba Place in Gagebrook and the United Service Station on the Brooker Highway in Lutana.

A police spokesperson told Pulse at least one person has been injured.

Authorities are currently working to determine the connection between the two locations.

“There is an increased police presence in the area while emergency services respond,” police said.
