Both lanes of the East Derwent Highway at Old Beach have reopened after a car rolled onto its side this morning, causing delays north of Hobart.

A reduced speed limit remains in place while crews finish clearing the scene.

The single-vehicle crash shut the highway in both directions earlier in the morning, forcing motorists to find alternative routes.

Police said no one was injured.

The Old Beach rollover was one of several crashes across the south of the state this morning, which officers have linked to the wet and dark conditions.

“Please slow down, leave extra space between vehicles, put your headlights on and pay attention,” police said.

Emergency services were also called to a crash on Roslyn Avenue at Blackmans Bay, where a lane was blocked near Illawarra Road.

A two-vehicle crash on Proctors Road at Dynnyrne also blocked one lane heading into Hobart.

No one was seriously hurt at either scene, police said.
