Robbie Fox will not be offered a playing contract with the Tasmania Devils for 2027, with the club saying player behaviour was among the factors it considered.

Fox helped lead the Devils in the club’s first season in the VFL.

In a statement to Pulse, Head of Football Operations Aaron Pidgeon said the decision followed “consideration of a range of factors”, including the future direction of its football program.

The Devils said they would continue to prioritise the development of emerging talent ahead of the club’s entry into the AFL and AFLW in 2028.

“The club’s expectations regarding player behaviour and adherence to our standards were also considered as part of this decision,” Pidgeon said.

He did not say what behaviour the club was referring to.
