The Tasman Bridge will be closed to all traffic on Sunday morning as thousands of competitors take part in the 15th edition of the Run the Bridge event.
RoadsTas are warning motorists to be aware of multiple road closures across the city between 6:30am and 10am, including the Tasman Bridge.
For those intending to travel between the eastern and western shores, it is being recommended to use the Bowen Bridge as a detour until the Tasman Bridge reopens at 9am.
The 10km event will start at Blundstone Arena, go around Bellerive Quay, up Rosny Hill Road, over the Tasman Bridge and through to the Hobart Waterfront, with the 5km event following the same route starting from the eastern shore end of the bridge.
Thousands of dollars in prize money will be paid out to the winners of the 10km race, with $8,000 set aside for first place, $4,000 for second and $2,000 for third.
