Tasmania Police are investigating a break-in at the Red Cross store on Elizabeth Street in Hobart after a safe was stolen from the premises overnight.
Staff arrived at the store this morning to find a door had been damaged and a safe removed from inside.
Red Cross notified police shortly before 9am.
Initial investigations suggest a male suspect was at the store around midnight.

The safe contained a small amount of cash.
Staff also reported some damage inside the store.

Police are asking anyone with information or CCTV footage from around 121-123 Elizabeth Street overnight to come forward.
