A 26-year-old man from Smithton in Northern Tasmania has been charged with attempted murder following an altercation on Lialeeta Crescent last night.
Police say officers were called to the scene at around 10:30pm on Tuesday after a man sustained significant injuries during the altercation that allegedly involved a knife.

“Police allege the men are known to each other,” a spokesperson said.
“The man was taken into custody at the scene and will appear before court this evening at 7pm.”
The victim, who suffered significant wounds, has been hospitalised and is currently in stable condition.
