The Southport Sharks have spoilt Tasmania’s big day at home, defeating the Devils by 53 points at North Hobart Oval.
The visitors won 20.10 (130) to Tasmania’s 11.11 (77) in Round 8 of the VFL season.
Tasmania started brightly and led at quarter-time, 5.2 to 3.4, with early goals from Brandon Leary, Hugh Dixon, Harry Elmer and Kai Cameron.
Southport took control after the first break and outscored the Devils in every quarter for the rest of the match.
The Sharks kicked eight goals to three in the final term to blow the margin out.

Jacob Dawson led the disposal count with 39 for Southport.
Boyd Woodcock, Max Pescud and Zac Foot each kicked three goals for the visitors.
Tasmania captain Jye Menzie finished with one goal and three behinds, with each of those misses coming in the final quarter as the Devils struggled to convert.
Tasmania won the inside 50s 63 to 55, but Southport had the better of the marks 80 to 62 and the clearances 48 to 40.
The loss is Tasmania’s second of the season.

The Devils sit fifth on the ladder with four wins, two losses and a draw from seven games. Southport move to four wins and three losses.
Attention now turns to the same ground this afternoon, where Tasmania’s women’s team plays its first ever match against Casey Demons.
