Tasmanian Supreme Court Justice Gregory Geason is facing charges of verbal abuse and emotional intimidation in a Hobart court.
Geason is on trial for allegedly tracking his former partner using Apple products he had bought for her and subjecting her to insulting remarks.
The woman told the court on Monday that Geason left her in tears on several occasions during their brief relationship.
The court heard the alleged abuse first began while the pair were on holiday in Dubrovnik, Croatia, last year.
The woman claimed the alleged incidents often occurred after Geason had consumed white wine, the ABC reported.
The judge has pleaded not guilty to one count of common assault and one count of emotional abuse charges filed in late 2023.
His defence team is contesting the accusations and denying any recurring misconduct, the ABC reported.
Deputy Chief Magistrate of Victoria Susan Wakeling is overseeing the proceedings to prevent any potential conflicts of interest with Tasmanian judges.
The case is scheduled to continue on Tuesday.
No findings have yet been made against Justice Geason and he maintains that he is not guilty of any criminal wrongdoing.
