A 29-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after being shot in what police believe was a targeted attack in southern Tasmania last night.
The man was wounded at a property in Chigwell before driving himself to seek help at an address in Bridgewater.
He was taken to Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police have seized the vehicle the injured man was driving as part of their investigation.

Officers believe the shooting was targeted and involved people known to each other rather than a random attack.
“Police investigations are following a specific line of enquiry to locate the people responsible,” Tasmania Police said in a statement.

The incident has prompted a significant police response as investigators work to track down those involved in the shooting.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
