The Tasmania Devils have claimed a commanding 30-point win over the Sydney Swans at Tramway Oval, finishing 17.14 (116) to 12.14 (86) in Round 19 of the VFL Premiership Season.
The Devils trailed early, with the Swans holding a 10 to 25 lead at quarter time.
Sydney maintained a slim advantage at the main break, leading 32 to 37.
The contest was level at the final change, with both sides locked on 32 apiece in the third term to bring scores to 64-all heading into the last quarter.
Tasmania then exploded in the fourth, piling on 52 points to Sydney’s 22 to run away with the result.
Jed Hagan was the star of the show, booting five goals for the match to lead all goalkickers.
Robbie Fox had 32 disposals of his own, well above his season average of 18.8.
The Devils finished with 374 disposals to Sydney’s 288 and recorded 246 kicks compared to 149.
Tasmania also held a significant edge in marks, 121 to 58 and hit-outs 61 to 21.
The Swans held the advantage in tackles, 62 to 45.
The win improves Tasmania’s record to nine wins, one draw and six losses, keeping them in sixth spot on the ladder.
Sydney sit third with 10 wins, one draw and six losses despite the defeat.
The Devils had entered the match on the back of a loss to the Seagulls in Round 18, going down by six points.
