The Tasmania Devils’ VFLW side has claimed the first win in its history, defeating Sandringham by 25 points at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday morning.
The Devils kicked 6.7 (43) to Sandringham’s 2.6 (18) in the round six clash, which started at 10:05am.
It was a breakthrough moment for the club, which had lost all four of its previous matches this season.
Tasmania controlled the game from the opening quarter, leading 1.1 (7) to 0.0 (0) at the first break and never looking back.

The Devils stretched the margin at every change, heading into half-time up 3.3 (21) to 0.1 (1) before taking a 4.5 (29) to 0.6 (6) lead into the final term.
Dearne Krushka was strong up forward, finishing with two goals for the match.

Claire Ransom racked up 22 disposals, while Perri King also found plenty of the ball.
Angelica Clark had 12 contested possessions and Grace White finished with four score involvements.
Ava Read was the standout on the fantasy scoreboard, tallying 90 points compared to her season average of 59.
The Devils dominated key statistics across the ground, finishing with 249 disposals to Sandringham’s 217 and recording 35 clearances to 22.

Tasmania also had a significant edge in inside 50s, sending the ball forward 34 times compared to 22 for the Zebras.
The win moves Tasmania to one win and four losses for the season in the VFLW, while Sandringham drops to two wins and three losses.
