TEDxHobart will return on August 1 with a lineup of speakers tackling the theme of “Identity” at the Ian Potter Recital Hall in Hobart’s Theatre Royal.
The event will bring together thinkers, storytellers and innovators from across Tasmania to explore how identity is formed, challenged and redefined.
Theo Kapodistrias, executive director of TEDxHobart, said the theme cuts to the heart of how people navigate the world.
“Identity shapes every decision we make, from the stories we tell ourselves to the way we connect with others,” he said.

“This year’s event is about unpacking that idea and exploring how identity is formed, challenged and redefined in a rapidly changing world.”
Speakers will cover ground ranging from personal transformation and cultural heritage to technology, creativity and community.

The lineup includes Di Mason, a sun safety expert, Thiago Alves, co-founder of Guess My Accent, Dr Rebecca Chabot, CEO of Pure Wellness Tasmania, Professor Swee-Hoon Chuah from the University of Tasmania, Dwayne Good, CEO of InTravel Group, and Alexander Hoysted, a writer and researcher.
Each speaker will deliver a talk in the well-known TEDx format, with ideas drawn from a wide range of fields.
The organisers say the event will go beyond the stage, with opportunities for attendees to connect and engage with a community driven by curiosity.
Tickets are available through the Theatre Royal website.
