Teenage motorcyclist airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after Tasman Peninsula bike crash

A teenage motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the Tasman Peninsula this morning.

The 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were riding their motorcycles along Hylands Road in Murdunna when the collision occurred around 10:50am on Sunday.

The 18-year-old was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The younger rider sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are asking anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania on 1800 333 000 or at crimestopperstas.com.au,” a spokesperson said.

“Information can be provided anonymously.”
