The Cat Empire is heading back to Tasmania for another collaboration with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, after their 2024 debut together drew a massive response.
The encore performance is set for Friday, September 25 at MyState Bank Arena.
The concert will see the band reworking their back catalogue on a grand orchestral scale, blending well-known Cat Empire tracks with new arrangements written specifically for the collaboration.
The band’s signature mix of Afro-Cuban, Seychellois Creole, Brazilian and flamenco influences will be expanded by the full force of the orchestra, creating what organisers describe as a powerful and immersive live experience.

The 2026 show will also feature world-class flamenco artists Arte Kanela, adding extra drama, rhythm and emotion to the performance.
The concert is presented by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Organisers said the show promises to be a celebration of rhythm, melody and movement, showcasing The Cat Empire in a way fans rarely get to see.
