The Cat Empire to return alongside the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

The Cat Empire is heading back to Tasmania for another collaboration with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, after their 2024 debut together drew a massive response.

The encore performance is set for Friday, September 25 at MyState Bank Arena.

The concert will see the band reworking their back catalogue on a grand orchestral scale, blending well-known Cat Empire tracks with new arrangements written specifically for the collaboration.

The band’s signature mix of Afro-Cuban, Seychellois Creole, Brazilian and flamenco influences will be expanded by the full force of the orchestra, creating what organisers describe as a powerful and immersive live experience.

The 2026 show will also feature world-class flamenco artists Arte Kanela, adding extra drama, rhythm and emotion to the performance.
