Three people have been arrested in George Town after a raid by the latest taskforce targeting repeat offenders.
Tasmania Police’s Taskforce Saturate swooped on a Friend Street home on Friday morning, apprehending the trio over alleged offences committed statewide.
Sergeant Greg Rogers said the offenders were charged with various crimes, including stealing.
A 31-year-old woman from West Moonah is accused of 12 stealing offences in Glenorchy, Moonah, Kingston, George Town, Devonport and Launceston, six breaches of bail and failing to appear in the Hobart Magistrates and Supreme Courts.
A 26-year-old man from West Moonah is facing seven stealing charges for alleged incidents in George Town, Devonport and Launceston.
The third offender, a 41-year-old man from George Town, was charged with two stealing offences allegedly committed in Launceston.
He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
“Taskforce Saturate remains committed to its ongoing efforts to reduce recidivism and enhance community safety,” Rogers said.
“We will continue to target and track recidivist offenders, to charge them and place them before the courts.”
Police encourage anyone with information about criminal activity to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania.
