Unregistered motorbike seized from man charged with negligent driving

A 26-year-old Ulverstone man has been charged with evading police after allegedly attempting to flee from officers on a motorbike.

Police attempted to stop him in Devonport on Monday night.

He was later apprehended and charged on Tuesday afternoon.

Specialist officers from Taskforce Scelus seized his red and silver motorbike, which was unregistered at the time of the incident.

The man is accused of driving while disqualified and negligent driving.

He has also been charged with fraudulently altering or displaying number plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and driving without insurance.

“If you’re riding a bike, please slow down and obey the road rules every time you’re on the roads,” police said on social media.
