A 19-year-old is in custody after an alleged assault and robbery at a bottle shop in Hobart’s north this afternoon.
Security staff reportedly restrained the suspect at Northgate shopping centre in Glenorchy before police arrived on Tuesday.
Tasmania Police said three people allegedly walked into the store around 4pm, assaulted a staff member and stole a “quantity of alcohol”.
“Security staff intervened and one man was arrested safely at the scene by police,” a police spokesperson said.
The young Warrane man remains in custody.
The staff member was assessed at the scene for “minor facial injuries”, police said.
Police are still working to identify and track down the other two people allegedly involved.
