A 26-year-old pedestrian has been killed after a two-car crash on the corner of Margaret and Fredrick Streets in Launceston around 9:20pm last night.
Police say the young man died at the scene, while his 46-year-old friend was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services were on scene within minutes, closing the Roda for several hours while crash investigators assessed the scnee.
The road was reopened around 1am on Friday.
Anyone who saw a blue Triton or black Toyota hatchback in the area around 9 PM is urged to contact Police.
