A long-vacant corner in Bellerive is slated to be transformed into a 13-apartment complex with ground-floor commercial space.
Hobart firms JAWS Architects, developer and builder All Things Considered (ALTCo.) and project marketing specialists South Property Group are behind the project, known as Apartments at The Quay.
The development will sit on the corner of Clarence Street and Cambridge Road, a site that has been empty for years.
South Property Group managing director Nick Cowley said the development application was almost complete and its submission was imminent.
ALTCo. has already cleared a half-built building from the site, ready for construction to begin.
“This development will breathe new life into a site that has been waiting a long time for its next chapter,” Cowley told realestate.com.au.
The project will offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments, priced from $650,000 to $2.3 million.
Three of the 13 units have already sold.
Cowley said the homes would appeal to a range of buyers, including first-home buyers, investors, downsizers and city workers tired of bridge traffic who want to catch the ferry instead.
The ground floor will include 450 square metres of commercial space, to be offered for sale or lease.
