A Burnie man is behind bars after police allegedly discovered illicit drugs and a homemade firearm during a search of his home this week.
The 64-year-old was arrested on Monday during a raid at a property in Romaine, where police say they found a quantity of illegal substances alongside the makeshift weapon.

The man has been remanded in custody to appear in court at a later date.
“Police remain committed to targeting the possession and distribution of illicit substances and unlawful firearms in the community,” said a spokesperson.
