A 15-year-old has been charged with aggravated robbery following an alleged attack on a cyclist in Glenorchy that left the rider hospitalised with facial injuries.
Police say the teenager was part of a group that they allege pulled the cyclist off their bike on the Intercity Cycleway on Saturday afternoon.
The victim, whose age and gender have not been released, was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.
Following the assault, the teenager and another member of the group allegedly stole the victim’s mountain bike, which had been modified with an e-bike conversion kit.

They then fled the scene.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, particularly a person who was parked on Howard Road in a white van at the time of the assault.
