A ‘reckless’ drunk West Coast woman has slammed through a fence and into the front yard of a Queenstown home tonight.

Senior Constable Brad Coulson said the 35-year-old lost control of her ute, drove through two pedestrian crossing barriers, onto the wrong side of the road and into the fence on Friday.

Coulson said it was lucky no one was injured.

“This sort of reckless driving behaviour puts innocent people at risk and will not be tolerated.”

Following a breath test, the woman was found to be 3.72 times the legal alcohol limit.

She is now facing drink driving and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor charges.

The woman has also had her drivers licence disqualified and will appear in court in September.
