Bridgewater teens accused of $145,000 damage to affordable housing

A pair of 14-year-old boys from Bridgewater are facing serious charges after allegedly causing extensive damage to affordable housing being built in Herdsmans Cove.

Police accuse the teens broke into the construction site multiple times between April and May, causing an estimated $145,000 worth of damage.

Each teen has been charged with 28 counts of property destruction and 28 counts of burglary.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if anyone else was involved in the crime spree.

“Anyone with information should contact Bridgewater Police on 131 444 and quote OR744672. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers Tasmania anonymously at crimestopperstas.com.au,” police said.

“Both youths will appear in the Hobart Youth Court at a later date.”
