A home in Hobart’s north has sustained damage after a firearm was reportedly shot towards the property overnight.
Police were called to the Herdsmans Cove address around 7:40pm on Monday after residents reported the sound of a gun being discharged.
“Officers arrived to find the front window had been hit, but thankfully no one was injured,” Acting Sergeant Sam Storer said.
“Police are calling for information from the public and we’re asking anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage to contact us.”
A 31-year-old man was arrested at the scene for unrelated matters and has since been charged with unrelated firearms and other offences.
He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police are now calling for anyone who has information on the incident to come forward.
