The search for a missing Burnie teenager has continued today, 10 days after she vanished from Tasmania’s north.
14-year-old Shyanne-Lee Tatnell was last seen near the North Esk River in Launceston on April 30, as she was on her way to visit a friend but never arrived.
Inspector Craig Fox of Tasmania Police this afternoon said that the probability of finding her is becoming “slimmer and slimmer” with each passing day.
Authorities have conducted extensive searches of the area, including river diving, helicopter aerial patrols and volunteer community patrols.

Shyanne-Lee’s family and friends have not heard from her since she went missing, and she has not made any social media posts or bank transactions.
Police have recovered several items of interest but cannot confirm if they are connected to Shyanne-Lee until a forensic analysis is conducted.

Inspector Fox has confirmed that the search for the teenager will continue until the authorities are satisfied that they have done everything possible to locate her.
Police divers will continue to search the river tomorrow, where they will make a decision on further search efforts.
Shyanne-Lee was wearing a cream-coloured hooded jumper with dark-coloured writing on the chest and shoulder area, and bike shorts at the time of her disappearance.
She is described as about 160cm tall, with a slim build and blond hair.
